About Bernardo

I’m an experienced creative with a background in graphic design, creative direction, engineering for digital products, and creative leadership. My biggest strengths are fostering collaboration, helping people work together, establishing work processes and systems, and managing creative projects.

I’m a software engineer at Amazon, while I volunteer design work for Glamazon (Amazon’s LGBTQ+ affinity group) and independently pursue creative projects.

Previously, I designed for Nickelodeon, ran a full-time design practice working with clients and agencies, and taught. As the Creative Director at Drexel Institutional Advancement, I led the visual team, establishing efficient workflows, promoting cross-team collaboration, and contributing to project management and leadership.

I studied graphic design (BS Philadelphia University, MFA Temple), and computer sciences (MSCS Drexel) and hold certifications in design thinking (IBM) and typeface design (Cooper Union).

My work has been published, shown, and awarded in the USA, Venezuela, England, and Australia.

I’ve held leadership positions and have been a speaker, mentor, guest lecturer, and instructor with various organizations.
